The place was very clean and neat. It has a lot of Japanese architecture influence such as warmth, wood, and natural materials (i.e plants), with pops of dark blue. The lights were dimmed and it was a peaceful store. Compared to Starbucks, it is very quiet. I like the use of lighting in the store to give that warm cozy vibe.
The flavor was on the bitter side, but it was lightly sweetened and had some nuttier notes. You can taste the matcha in the latte, and the house sweetener wasn’t overpowering. It helped enhance the flavor. It was a delightful drink.
The texture was smooth and the drink was on the thin side, so if you prefer a creamier matcha latte, I say try somewhere else. The drink felt a little watered down and had a dry finish (left the mouth feeling dry). Despite all this, the experience was great and I would buy it again.
It was easy to find and to get to the store by car. The area is the bustling part of the mission so theres plenty of public transportation in the area. The store offers order ahead, take out, and dine-in, along with a variety of other foods and types of drinks to enjoy. The menu wasn’t overwhelming and was easy to understand. They only have one size available for drinks. The matcha looked to be authentically made (i.e. bamboo whisk and bowl) and the matcha color was a nice green color that was a little muted and brown.
