Cute but small shop that has minimal seating. It was bright and light.They offer contactless and in-person ordering making social interaction at a minimum. The decor has similar themes to the other matcha stores, lots of light wood and some japanese inspired banners.
The flavor of matcha is very strong and the sweetener helps with the bitterness. This was has a unique almost chocolate flavor, like dark chocolate. The amount of matcha gives a bitter after taste as the matcha power sits on your tongue. It would do better if it was toned down slightly, but if you love matcha flavor this is very good. Not beginner matcha drinking friendly.
The drink is a bit granular but still smooth. It’s also thinner, not creamy. It leaves a dry finish (left the mouth feeling dry). As you keep drinking the matcha does taste better, unless youre a chugger. The experience was great quick, easy, and I would buy it again.
The location has plenty of public parking and very easy to get to from campus. Also the location is near a lot of good places to grab a bite from or to walk down. It's also pretty easy to find so you won't get lost. There’s already an oat milk matcha latte drink on the menu so no need to ask for additional customizations. This makes ordering a lot easier. They only have one size available for drinks. There are a variety of other drinks and some foods/ snack items you can have your drink with. They also make soft serve matcha and matcha power so you can make it at home. The service was very quick and nice. The straw is plastic but was a bending straw, so it gets some brownie points. The matcha color is a very dark green probably due to the amount of matcha they put inside the drink. If you love the matcha flavor, this is the right drink for you.
